Property Description

Chalet Chamoissiere, in Monetier-les-Bains, Serre Chevalier, will sleep 4 people in comfort, and is ideal for families or couples. A baby can also be accommodated,and possibly an extra child under 12. Baby equipment is available if notified in advance.

Changeover day is Sunday (Saturday possible in Summer) , but we will accept short stays of at least 3 nights outside of peak season (i.e. Christmas, New Year, February, July and August). Please ask if you have any individual requirements, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Bed linen and towels are provided (please provide your own for the swimming pool/sauna)
There is a double bedroom, with plenty of storage and drawer space, a lounge/dining area with comfortable sofabeds TV, DVD player, table and chairs, with access to south facing terrace via sliding doors.

The kitchenette is fully equipped with oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and coffee maker

The shower room/WC has a power shower, hairdryer, shaving point and washing machine.

All rooms have geothermal underfloor heating using water from the local hot springs. This is a very environmentally-friendly option, using virtually no electricity

In the ski room is a large,ski locker with loads of room for boots and skis, as well as hiking equipment.

Each apartment has a designated parking space, security alarm and videophone entry, and a private changing cubicle for the pool, sauna and hammam,

Wifi broadband and telephone.

Local Activities

Serre Chevalier in Winter:
Serre Chevalier is a large ski resort in the French Alps.It has 250km of mainly north facing slopes and therefore maintains its snow well into April. Snow-making on the lower runs means skiing down to the village is possible all season.

There are 250kms of pistes, and the lift system is being upgraded with lots of fast 6 man chairs. The skiing suits all abilities, and non-skiers can meet you for lunch at the top of the gondolas.There is some fantastic off-piste skiing for the experts amongst you, but a guide is recommended.

Monetier-les-Bains, at an altitude of 1500m , is the highest village in the resort, the others being spread along the foot of the pistes, Villeneuve-la-Salle, Chantemerle/Saint-Chaffrey and the Napoleonic fortress town of Briancon, the highest town in the Alps, which is at 1200m. A good skier can cross from one end of the resort to the other in a day, but as the ski-bus system is good and frequent, it doesn't matter too much where you finish at the end of the day.

Serre Chevalier in Summer:
Monetier-les-Bains and the rest of the Serre Chevalier area is as beautiful in Summer as it is in Winter. The main chairlifts from each village open for the Summer months for the enjoyment of walkers and mountain bikers. You can just catch the lift up and enjoy lunch at the top in one of the mountain restaurants. The views are delightful and there are many marked trails to enjoy.
If you prefer the water, you can raft or kayak down the river, or just laze in the thermal baths or the new swimming pool.
For the children, there are adventure parks, swimming pools and activities organised by the Ski Schools.Take a trip to Serre Poncon, a large reservoir near Embrun, where you can sail or swim? Day trips to Embrun, and the orchards and vineyards around Gap are all possible, as well as Turin, one of Italy's most beautiful cities, made famous by the film The Italian Job
