Property Description

The Hotel Chanrossa is a character chalet hotel built in the traditional Savoyarde style typical to this region of the alps. Located right in the heart of Courchevel 1550 it is situated just 150 meters from the foot of the slopes and the main Telecabine linking 1550 to Courchevel 1850. This lift remains open in the evening so you can easily get to the chic centre of Courchevel 1850, or alternatively why not relax in the hotel's own comfortable bar.

Living Area:

Inside, the traditional atmosphere of the Chanrossa is enhanced by stone walls and antique furniture and the open log fire gives a warm welcome to our guests on return from skiing. The lounge has comfortable settees and chairs set around coffee tables, which is open, but secluded from, the large a la Carte restaurant with rustic wood tables. All bedrooms are en-suite and those at the back benefit from stunning views across the valley to the far peaks of other resorts. The Chanrossa has a bar and reputable restaurant (open to the public).

Kitchen Facilities:

Whilst run as a hotel, your holiday includes the benefits of the high levels of Ski Power chalet-style catering. Breakfast and a 3 course dinner (every night with the exception one night of your choice) are part of your package. A choice of wines is available with your meal, but all drinks at the hotel are charged for. Furthermore our guests receive a 10% discount on food in the restaurant should you choose to eat in the restaurant on the night off.

Outside:

There is free off road parking next to the hotel for those with their own cars.

Suitability

Often known as the ‘chic' resort of the Trois Vallées, Courchevel is an outstanding ski resort comprising four different villages. Courchevel 1550 is conveniently located a short gondola ride from 1850 and offers very quick and easy access to the Courchevel valley, with beautiful tree lined and snow cannoned runs back into resort. Courchevel has some of the best groomed pistes in Europe and forms part of the vast Trois Vallées ski area (600km). The lift system is excellent, enabling beginners to find wide and easy slopes, intermediates to ski and board the length and breadth of the Trois Vallées on exciting reds or leisurely blues, and experts to find truly challenging blacks and huge areas of off-piste. The facilities for free-stylers are excellent across the whole Trois Valleés ski area.

Local Activities

There are a number of friendly bars (including our own in Chanrossa) and several restaurants, but nightlife is quieter in comparison to its higher neighbour.

Extra activities include ice-skating, bowling, tobogganing, ice climbing, hang-gliding, climbing, cinema and skidooing.

Other Information

Please note: For your entertainment there is live music at generally twice a week in the bar and whilst the building is resistant to sound travel there will be some background noise on these evenings. The live music will finish by midnight. We would recommend that parties with children occupy rooms on the third floor (31 to 37). Rooms 21 and 28 are immediately over the bar.
