Property Description

Austrian Ski Chalet Hotel, Cross Country Chalet

The Pension Hoffelner is at 1200 meters and overlooks the World Cup resort of Schladming, all part of the massive Ski Amade area with 860 km of piste on one lift pass, the most extensive area in Austria!

Schladming has 189 km of piste over 4 interlinked mountains, Ramsau is a great family resort and has over 40 km of piste including the Dachstein Glacier, which at 2700 meters is skiable all year.

Ramsau is also a World Class cross country skiing resort & hosted the 2007/08 World Cup. 200km of pisted trails for Nordic and Classic cross country skiing right from the hotel's door.

Cross Country Ski Courses plus equipment hire, can be organised.

40km of Alpine pistes in Ramsau, an excellent ski school and a beginners lift 100m from the house

Schladming is the largest local ski area, just 9 mins by car, the bus stop is handy or we run a twice daily minibus Ski Shuttle

Ramsau has a 7km taboggan run. Night Sledging & a stop at a mountain hut makes a great evening out! Other activities include Horse drawn Sleigh Rides & Snow Walking

We can arrange Off Piste Days for the more advanced or skiing in several excellent local locations all within 20mins drive.

Salzburg Airport is only 1 hour away and minibus transfers can be arranged.

Almost all rooms have balconies with wonderful views and the guest lounge leads on to a decked sun terrace. There is also a children's play area during the summer with swings and trampoline. We also have a private car park and heated ski / boot room with boot drying system and waxing bench.

Jo and Rob were extremely helpful with both the planning of our trip and helping us on our arrival, the place is immaculate and Rob's cooking is fantastic. The pension is conveniently situated for all the runs and only a short drive from the airport, we left bristol airport at 6.00am and were on the slopes by 10.30am.
I would highly reccomend a stay here, and cant wait to return in the not too distant future.

We just spent three nights at Pension Hoffelner and had a wonderful time. The Pension has beautiful 360 degree views of the Dachstein Glacier, the Ramsau area, and the Schladming ski slopes. The house is decorated with hand carved wood beams and has a very warm and comfortable feel. There is a bar, dining room and rec room with tv, dvd's and a pool table.

Rob and Joanna are a lovely British couple that have just taken over managment of the Pension. Joanna also speaks German fluently. They were very accommodating with transfers to and from the train station and the ski lifts. They set us up with Heinz, one of the local ski shop owners. He made sure we were fitted right for all of our equipment and even drove us back and forth from the Pension. He also told us stories about when he gave Arnold Schwarzenneger ski lessons!

Rob and Joanna serve dinner nightly and have more menu offerings at better prices than most restaurants in the area. The food was excellent and had a home cooked feel. In addition to the regular menu, they serve a dinner special each night. The desserts are brilliant!

There are lots of things to do in Ramsau like cross country skiing, horse drawn sleigh rides and tobaggining. The cross country ski trails run right past the Pension's garden. Plus there is quick access to over 800 km of ski runs and the ski pass system could not be easier.

Even though it is a few minutes drive out of Schladming, we would recommend this Pension to anyone. We were very glad to be in such a friendly, quiet and comfortable place with pristine Alpine views.
