Property Description

The chalet has been completed to the highest standard and is completely furnished throughout, offering excellent accommodation and comfort for 6 people. It has 2 WC’s, kitchenette and lounge area with a timber deck area for taking in the scenery. Flights to Sofia are inexpensive as are the lift passes and ski equipment hire. It’s also ideal for Spring and Summer holidays, with stunning mountain treks and horse riding.

Living Area:

Decorated with a homely touch, antique skis on the wall, Cuckoo clock, replica mouse's head and Mountain View pictures. Comfortable sofa bed and arm chair to relax and watch TV. Don’t forget to bring your DVD’s and CD’s to play whist you’re here.

Suitability

Borovets is the oldest international and most popular mountain resort in Bulgaria. It is located at 1350 above the sea level (with highest pistes at 2600 m), on the Northern slopes of Rila mountain among age-old pine woods, at the foot of Mousala peak (2925 m) the highest one on the Balkan peninsula. Borovets is easily accessible, being at a distance of only 70 km from Sofia (the capital of Bulgaria) and 126 km from Plovdiv. Established at the end of the 19th century as a hunting place for the Bulgarian kings, BOROVETS gradually developed into a modern ski resort of high class and luxury hotels, haute-cuisine restaurants and the varied leisure-time entertainment opportunities besides an excellent network of ski runs and lifts along the slopes of the Rila Mountain

Local Activities

As well as skiing BOROVETS offers scores of scenic walking routes, by experienced guides. The organised trips lead to picturesque spots in the Rila Mountain like Seven Rila Lakes, peak Malyovitsa, peak Moussala, etc. A photo Safari and a visit to the Bulgarian kings' residence of Bistritsa are also regularly organized. Various trips to different tourist attractions throughout Bulgaria are offered as well.

Other Information

BOROVETS also offers a large choice of night-life opportunities with its many night clubs, bars and discos. The ski carnivals are real fiestas for the guests of the resort, and the ski evenings when the ski certificates are awarded are remembered for a long time.

We had a great time in Borovets, the chalet was great, no problems at all. The pick ups arrived on time and got us to and from the airport in good time. The skiing was great althought the weather was warming up later on in the week and the rain had started on Saturday so think we picked a good week to go. Hi Sally, Back to work now and full of the holiday blues!! Just to let you know that we looked after everything and only 1 hook was broken by us - I think due to too many coats. It happened on the first day so not really sure whether it was down to us. Stefan and his family were marvels and looked after us very well. Finally any chance we can book for next year - looking for another chalet too - bringing more friends? Kerry

We loved the chalet, it was perfect for what we needed. Having been before, we could compare any differences etc and have found the facilities very modern, great to have a dvd, though we hardly ever watched and it was perfect to have self catering. One point with having the self catering though, is that the daily cleaning didnt include washing pots. Being on a holiday, the last thing I felt like doing, even if I had to cook, was do the dishes! Not a huge thing, as I am sure you normally have people there for a couple of days at the most, not for the length of time we were there. Stefan was great, always a call away, and found the people very hospitable. Thanks so much, Kind Regards Kerry

Hi Sally ! The place was great,we had a good holiday and will recommend your chalet, to all our friends well done! . The only things I must mention ,The double bed had two single duvets on it, so when you moved they kept falling off, One of the doors on the wall unit in the kitchen, the door had dropped so it would not close . And the chest of draws in the room with the two single beds a draw front had come loose and a couple of knobs had dropped off. Five minutes with a screw driver would repair the above had I had one with me I would have fixed it and not mentioned it .Sorry but I felt I had to mention the above as small faults can become large ones these as yet are not. PS not a complaint as things were great well done . Stuart and Ann

Hi Sally! Just to let you know that we all had a great time in Borovets last week and really didn't want to leave! Chris and Serma at Hunters treated us like part of the family, which was fantastic, and even cooked us a traditional Bulgarian feast on our final night. I know that you were also interested in getting some feedback from us, so here are the comments I've received from the group so far. I haven't heard back from everyone yet so will pass on any further comments I get tomorrow: Both chalets were really comfortable and well equipped We were picked up promptly for both transfers to and from the airport Stefan was always very accommodating if we had any problems The food at Hunters was always really good- especially the Turkish bread Your recommendations for places to eat were really helpful- we particularly liked Hrima The private snowboarding instructor called Sachin was excellent as was Boyan, the skiing instructor. We had a very good time and were lucky with the snow so we could ski every day. Some of the lower slopes got rather bare but higher up it was good. Couple of comments We originally didn’t take the offered ski pass and ski rental packages as we weren’t sure if it was a good deal or not. However on checking the local prices it was a good deal and we went back to Stefan to supply Drains did smell but we managed to fix that Everything else was great and I could recommend your chalet and Bovorets to friends Regards…………….alan 1.1.05
