Imagine the best of the french Alps in winter and summer....
We can offer you a share in our home; a beautifully renovated, traditional Haute-Savoie Farmhouse 60 minutes from Geneva with a range of excellent accommodation for individuals, couples, groups small and large based in and around our Farmhouse... We are located in the beautiful hamlet of Vallon d'en Haut.

This area is accessed through the vaulted centre section of the main house, which is our house and where we live, past the huge 4 sided, open, Haute-Savoie fireplace and up two flights of handmade stairs.

The Loft apartment comprises 2/3 cosy bedrooms:
1 x twin/double, 1 x twin, 1 x single ensuite.
In addition, there is sleeping in the lounge area for 1 in an extremely comfortable, large sofa bed.

There are 1/2 bathrooms depending on the use/availability of the single ensuite, providing 2 baths and 1 shower, with 2 toilets and a kitchen.
This loft area has a large glass area offering views over the valley to the Alps.
It also has a log burner, a large LCD DVD player, wireless Internet access
in the large communal lounge/living area, which looks down into and onto the main entrance well of the Farmhouse.

Walking holidays & mountain biking



La vieille Ferme is situated in the quiet hamlet of Vallon d'en haut in the valley bottom, close to the Giffre river and one of the great pleasures of living where we are is that, not only do we have the benefits of the winter season, but also the summer season.



The Alps are very close by, rising directly behind La vieille Ferme and it is in this environment that we offer our bespoke walking holidays for groups of upto 8 people, based at La vieille Ferme, using our local knowledge to provide exactly what you would like.



Walking, Mountain biking, trekking with donkey, cycling, riding, all manner river based activities, parapenting, use of the leisure park for boating, tennis, basketball, archery, golf, trampolining, fishing in lake and river, climbing, via ferrata, abseiling. Outdoor swimming in the town adult and toddler pools, water slides, adventure parks and much more.



Walking is one of the most enjoyable activities available in this stunning part of Alpine France. The GR5, one of the Grandes Routes of European walking, passes right in front of La vieille Ferme.



With or without a donkey, for half days, days or overnight, perhaps using the "refuges" dotted all over this Alpine region, La vieille Ferme is an ideal base for exciting trips along the beautiful valley bottom or into the more challenging mountains.

Skiing the Grand Massif



La vieille Ferme is in the rural hamlet of Vallon d'en haut and benefits enormously from being a short distance away from the hustle and bustle of Samoëns, the Grand Massif ski area and Geneva.



Every Alpine activity is available in our area: Downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, sledging, dog sledding, ski parapenting. Many people drive to us and choose to have the flexibility of driving each morning the 5 mins. to the new telecabine, the Grand Massif Express. Once you have bought your ski pass others use the ski bus which regularly stops 50 metres away from La vieille Ferme for the 5 min. trip to the lift or into town. For those not with us to downhill ski you can snow shoe from the front door or choose one of the many nearby cross country routes that are available.



The Grand Massif Ski Area - 265 km of pistes link the five resorts of the Grand Massif (Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, Flaine, Les Carroz d'Arâches, Morillon and Samoëns). There are 75 ski lifts, 3 different types of Jampark, descents of varying difficulty, entertainment on a regular basis, a variety of en piste restaurants.



The Grand Massif Express is 5 mins from La vieille Ferme and Samoëns 1600 is 8 minutes away by The Grand Massif Express so once there the Alps open up offering miles of skiing, both off-piste and on-piste, right through to the well known resort of Flaine.
