Property Description

Our apartment is located in Morzine, 1km from the town centre and 20 metres from the Telepherique de Nyon. Use of this Telepherique avoids queues in Morzine and allows access to the slopes of Nyon, Chamossierre, Le Pleney and Les Gets which have runs for all abilities. Avoriaz, and the rest of the Portes de Soleil ski area, can be reached via the Super Morzine gondola or the Les Prodains cable car, both accessible by free ski bus which stops outside the apartment and also provides a regular free service to the centre of Morzine. At the end of a day on the Nyon slopes, you can ski down a blue piste to within 100 metres of the apartment. This run has snow cannons and always stays open.

Sleeping 4-6 comfortably, the apartment has two bedrooms, one with a double bed the other with two full-size bunk beds. There is a bath with shower over, a basin and washing?machine in the bathroom and the toilet is separate. Refurbished in 2007 with the bathroom, the kitchen area is fully equipped with a 4-ring hob, fan-oven, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. The living area has dining space for 6 with a double sofa bed, TV, DVD, video and mini HiFi. It opens on to a south-west facing balcony with extensive views over a wooded hillside, catching the afternoon sun. There is a separate cave for storing sports equipment and a reserved parking space directly outside.

Keys for the apartment are collected from a local agent who will sort any problems, should they occur.

Local Activities

The Morzine-Les Gets ski area comprises 120 kilometres of marked pistes served by 48 lifts. All of this area can easily be skied from the apartment. Beginners will find ample nursery areas, intermediates will find long "cruising" reds and hot-shots can head for spots such as Chamossiere and Chery Nord. Both Pointe de Nyon and Chamossiere offer significant off-piste opportunities. Although most of the skiing is under 2000 metres, the proximity of the Mt Blanc range ensures good snow cover.
The more extensive Portes du Soleil ski domain offers 650 kilometres of pistes. Avoriaz can easily be accessed, on ski via the Super Morzine gondola, or by driving to Les Prodains or Ardent. Avoriaz has 6 snowparks and offers a wide range of runs for all abilities including the Coupe du Monde downhill piste and the technically demanding Swiss Wall.
Morzine has several ski schools, all of whom will provide English-speaking
instructors. The town has an excellent selection of bars and restaurants, offering everything from burgers to Savoyard specialities.
