Property Description

When you arrive at this fantastic ski resort in the Alpes-Maritimes, which is relatively un-known by the british, you will be charmed by the atmosphere. Parts of Auron date back to medieval times and these buildings have been lovingly restored amongst the newer buildings. Our newly re-furbished apartment has a comfortable and cosy traditional atmosphere. Sleeps 4/6 persons over 2 floors. Auron is an all year round resort located only 55 miles from Nice International airport and the beaches of the Cote d'azur. There is an excellent direct bus service from the airport. Easy access by bus for just 1 euro. Free shuttle bus in the village during peak times.

Living Area:

Large open plan living area with an adjoining kitchen. The Mezzanine has a double bed and a seperate area with bunk beds. Plenty of storage/hanging space. A corner sofa in the living room, opens out to a full size double bed if required. A new entertainment system with 42inch flat screen and DVD player/i pod docking station/charger, CD/Radio. We do have a good selection of DVD/CD's for your use.West facing balcony with sun in the afternoon. Stunning views of the surrounding mountains and village.

Kitchen Facilities:

New kitchen and appliances, incl. small fridge/freezer, double hob, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster. Good quality crockery, cooking utensils, glasses & cutlery provided. We do provide basic needs on arrival - such as tea, coffee, sugar, condiments, Soap, toilet paper etc. we do ask if anything is used up to replace it.

Outside:

Trois Lys complex is located in a quiet wooded area aprox 8 mins walk from the village centre & lifts. There are plenty of free parking space outside the entrance. A free shuttle bus stops at the top of the drive which does a cicuit of the village every 20 mins in winter holiday time only. Lovely walks from the door. Auron has an abundance of tradional french restaurants, bars and a nightclub. There are plenty of ski hire shops in the village and 1 at the middle station. A well stocked Supermarket, Charcuterie and Bolangerie for your fresh croissants. There are several boutiques and gift shops to brouse round. Something for everyone.

Suitability

Great resort for families and children. Easy access to Nursery slope. Excellent skiing for all levels. Good Ski school/private lessons, for all ages, Creche facilities in the centre of the village. Inexpensive ski pass.An area pass can be purchased at a small extra charge to cover Isola 2000. A raditionally french village with a relaxed atmosphere. All round winter/summer resort with an abundance of oudoor persuits just over 1 hour from the beaches of the Coted'Azur and Monaco.

Local Activities

Auron offer a full range of winter sports including:- downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, outdoor ice skating rink in the village centre. Indoor leisure centre at nearby Isola village.In summer outdoor activities such as:-Walking, golf, tennis, climbing, horse riding, mountain biking, trekking, swimming, rafting excursion available.

Other Information

Direct buses run from both airline terminals to the resort and back all the year round for 2 euro's return. Car Hire is right outside the terminal (No shuttle bus required)
Village Cable car/Gondola runs:- winter Dec - April and in summer July/August only.
Bus from Auron direct to Nice centre all the year round for 2 euros return.
Free shuttle bus round village during school holiday in ski season.

Ski hol feb 08. Excellent location for our young children who are 6 & 8 yrs. We thought the facilities of the apartment/village & ski school were excellent - we are returning again half-term 2009. Pat & Brian Wood - Todmonden, Lancs.
