Property Description

Wonderful 4 bedroomed appartment, sleeps 12 persons + possible 4 more on Ground floor. In high season: min. 8 adults per booking please.
Owners speak English & German.
The recently renovated farmhouse is located in a small village, 300 meters from the B95, next to the old Taurach steam-train line and river.
With 4 amazing ski areas, all under 15 minutes drive. Ideal for families, beginners throught to high end intermediates. Multilingual instruction and child care available.
Skiing possible from late Nov. to early May. The free ski bus stop is 300m away.

The Lungau valley is the sunniest area in Austria, garaunteed! In summer the temperatures are usually over 20 degrees.
Walking, cycling, kayaking, tennis, swimming, castles, steam trains etc.. all nearby, and much more!

Our charming house has room for 14 persons on the 1st floor, with its own separate entrance.
4 bedrooms each sleep 2-4 people plus 2 generous bathrooms.
4 more persons can sleep in 2 rooms on the ground floor, with a 3rd bathroom available. All bathrooms have showers.
Bedrooms have double and/or single beds/bunk beds, a wardrobe, bedside cabinets & lamps, mirror, rugs and some rooms have a table and chairs.
Cot, high chair, bath & changing mat for babies provided .

Self catering in the very large kitchen, dining room, living room with all the appliances and utensils provided. Fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, toaster etc.. Satellite television, DVD player and CD player.
Use of the infra-red sauna, bed linen and towels are included. Ski storage and ski boot dryer provided.

There is a wood burning stove in the main central hallway, for guests to use as required. Wood is provided.

Lovely large garden with furniture and covered storage for bicycles and motorcycles.
Well behaved pets are welcome for small charge.
Local Tourist Tax of ?1.15 per person per day and a final cleaning charge of ?45 depending on amount of guests staying, will be charged also.

A deposit of 20% is required on booking.

Local Activities

The Lungau region is an outdoor paradise. An alpine landscape with nearly 60 crystal clear lakes, green pastures, cliffs and mountain peaks.
Due to geological conditions, Mariapfarr and nearby villages such as Pichl, are in the 'Sunniest Place in Austria'! Temperatures are usually over 20 derees from late Spring to mid Autumn.

One can walk, run, cycle and mountain bike over numerous marked paths, both on the mountains and in the valley. E-bikes can be hired and charged-up at many places. There are numerous horse trails, Castles, Austria's highest airfield for paragliders and pilots, beautiful mountain lakes and fishing lakes etc...

There are 2 steam railways running in the valley:
The Taurachbahn is Austria's highest narrow gauge railway and passes in front of the apartment, twice daily, Fri - Sun. from June to September and is only ?12.
The Murtalbahn travels between Tamsweg (close by) and Murau every Wed. also from June to Sept. The 80 minute journey passes through stunning countryside, alongside the Mur River and surrounding valley.
