The snow is plentiful and usually continues till May, due to the Pacific's cooling air and nearby Vancouver has rather wet weather resulting in plenty of snow in the Whistler and Callaghan areas. It is always wise to check the weather on a daily basis, and the resort always has a daily weather forecast board.
There is a history to Whistler and there is a local history museum and really wonderful art galleries to visit. There is also a collection of memorabilia documents and arte facts referring to the everyday Whistler mountain life over the past years and is on exhibit to the public. And need I say more the main attraction being Alpine skiing amidst the breathtaking scenic mountains.
There are many things to do and attractions to see in and around Whistler like enjoying a ride on the gondola and soaking in the magnificent views, then there are the beaches surrounding the Alta Lake and Adventure Zone as well as Bungee jumping. You can hope over to Vancouver and frequent the many family attractions offered there.
Close to Whistler you will locate the Village gate Boulevard which offers shopping, restaurants with really good food as well as reasonable priced and you can witness the giant hotel complexes, as well as many apr�s ski pubs to enjoy after a hard day of skiing.
