Ski Holidays in France18 July 2009 One of the most popular sporting holidays of the rich and famous is skiing, but there are many of us less rich and famous who also love skiing holidays, and ski holidays in France can be incredible. The French Alps are home to some of the most stunning ski spots in the world.
The incredible Alps provide seven mountain spots which are suitable for beginners and experienced skiers. The Alps provide a ton of other activities too and there is always something exciting going on. A day on the slopes and nights spent in the best casinos, restaurants, theatres, and enjoying live entertainment make for a wonderful vacation. You will find steak houses where the chef will grill you steak to perfection right in front of you, and after a good meal, there is nothing better than dancing the night away in one of the many clubs or disco's on offer.
During the winter season more than 200 000 people visit the French Alps for holidaymaking, skiing and to enjoy all types of other fun activities. For adrenaline rushes with dividends this area is ideal. Children can be taken care of on the kids slopes, and with many other activities, while adult parties enjoy the wilder slopes and wilder night life of the French Alps.
Four of the most popular places to stay when visiting the Alps are St Anton, Val sere, St Moritz and Zermatt. But there are also many other smaller villages and towns which can be visited, Megeve for example is a superbly quaint village which is situated in the Espace Mont Blanc, in the heart of the French Alps. Espace Moint Blanc is comprised of three ski areas, Le Jaillet, Rochbrune and Mont d'Arbois, where many of the ski runs are cut through the treed areas as this holds the snow longer.
Even if you are not a skiing fantastic and don't want to learn, you are still able to have a superb holiday at French Alps resorts. When the snow starts white out conditions are often experienced, but after a new snow everything looks pristine and perfect again, and the scenery is out-of-this-world.
All European skiing resorts of a variety of certified teachers for all levels of skier and guides/instructors are generally locals, so they know the area better. Guides can be hired for a full day out on the slopes and in and around Megeve alone there is approximately 200 + miles of skiing as well as fine dining, shopping, casinos and chairs, gondolas, lifts and trams are available to take visitors from one town to another.
